Ngāi Tahu Property Limited is now one of the largest property companies in the South Island of New Zealand.

Its investments include the following portfolio:

Purpose-built developments remain a strong point for the Property Development arm of the company. Examples include:

  • Development of its ‘big box’ retail strategy, with completion of the third stage of the Tower Junction development in Blenheim Road, Christchurch.
  • All 547 sections sold in Tumara Park residential subdivision in Burwood, Christchurch.
  • Completion of six new premises for ABC Preschools (formerly Mother Hubbards) in the South Island.
  • Resource consent granted for a $50 million Post Office Precinct development in Queenstown that will include a multi-use commercial development and a new courthouse.
  • Completion of four projects for the business park at 559 Blenheim Road, Christchurch that include premises for Diesel Services, a new motor vehicle dealership, a
  • five-unit showroom/office development and a seven-unit showroom/office development.

Property investments include management and development of service to its customers comprising:

  • A portfolio of Crown leased properties, ground leases and properties with future development potential
  • High country stations of Greenstone, Elfin Bay and Routebourn.
  • National tree seed producing company, Proseed New Zealand Limited

Ngāi Tahu Property continues to manage Crown compliance under the Right of First Refusal, with the company ensuring the Crown complies with its obligations under the Ngāi Tahu Claims Settlement Act 1998.
